What you win

The TCN have teamed up with Creative Skillset to support emerging talent from under-represented backgrounds getting into training placements in TV. Trainee Finder covers all areas behind the camera, from sound, to VFX to hair and make-up.

Through the Trainee Finder programme production companies across the UK get the chance to hire the best trainees in the business. Which could be you.

Trainee Finder is closed to general applications right now, but by coming through the TCN programme you can still apply.

Individuals interested in applying for this opportunity should attend the Manchester Open Evening on Thursday 26th November at Manchester Central Library at 6.30pm to find out more about Trainee Finder. The Open Evening is free, but we are asking people to reserve a place in advance. To reserve a place, please go to: http://thetcn.com/event/triforce-creative-network-and-creative-skillset-present-get-a-grip-get-ready-for-a-career-behind-the-lens/

After attending the Open Evening, you can use the application form below to apply to take part in a weekend Microshort Workshop in Manchester, in Feb/March 2016 (exact date tbc).

Creative Skillset and TriForce will select up to 20 people to take part in the weekend ‘Microshort’ workshop. This will be a free workshop and you’ll work in small groups with experienced practitioners to film two scenes with actors. This will give us chance to assess your level of experience and suitability for the Trainee Finder programme.

Following the workshops we will be selecting people who will go forward to register with Trainee Finder, and be available for placements with local TV production companies (or elsewhere if you’re able to relocate). There isn’t a specific number of people we’ll put through – if everyone on the workshop shows the required level of ability/willingness to learn, then they will all go through.

We’re holding open evenings across the UK to raise awareness of Trainee Finder. Following the open evenings attendees will be invited to apply to take part in a weekend ‘Microshorts’ workshop in their area, working with a team of facilitators to create a ‘Microshort’ film in a weekend.

Following the workshops, the facilitators will recommend individuals from the workshop to go forward to Trainee Finder, where they will get the chance to take up paid traineeships on high end TV drama programmes.
